We are pleased to announce the commencement of the Erasmus+ project titled “Robotics and Inclusion of Students with Disabilities in Special Education,” which officially began on September 1, 2023. This project has an allocated budget of €250,000 and will run until August 31, 2025. The primary objective of this project is to develop an educational robot designed to enrich the learning experiences of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Recognizing the growing importance of robotics education, the project aims to leverage this technology to enhance the learning experiences of SEN students. Key activities planned within the project include: Development of the Educational Robot: Designing a robot tailored to provide interactive and engaging learning experiences for SEN learners. Teacher Training: Creating comprehensive training materials and courses to assist educators in effectively integrating robotics into their teaching practices. Research and Evaluation: Conducting research on the current state of robotics education to inform best practices and methodologies. The project is coordinated by OGEC SAINT LUC from France and involves a diverse consortium of partners, including Yenilikçi Eğitim Bilim ve Sanat Derneği from Turkey, an association focused on innovative teaching methods; Ενωση για την καινοτομία στην τεχνολογική εκπαίδευση και κουλτούρα from Greece; Goce Delcev State University from North Macedonia; Istituto Modartech from Italy; and Riga 5th Primary School Development Center from Latvia. Each partner will contribute their expertise and knowledge to the project. In the long term, this project aims to enhance the motivation and engagement of SEN students, equip educators with modern teaching methods, and promote collaboration among educational institutions to share best practices. Ultimately, the goal is to create a more inclusive and sustainable educational model that can be replicated across various contexts in Europe.
